Following the self-discipline tips I have given all week to keep ourselves on track is all well & good, but it’s important to understand that we are not a machine. Like any other person, we aren’t infallible & we can slip up from time to time. . . Expecting perfection from ourselves is a sure way to sabotage our success. We will only encounter unnecessary frustration, misery & more often than not, failure. No amount of self-discipline will stand up forever (for instance, if the fitness program we are following is too strict). So it’s important that you set a plan for yourself that’s sensible & sustainable. . . Expecting to be able to maintain military-grade self-discipline is one of the most common reasons for people failing by giving up. It’s better to start with a conservative approach that’s relatively easy to follow & then make it stricter if necessary, than to begin with something impossible right from the word go. . . Certainly trust in your self-discipline & work on improving it, but don’t expect too much & overdo it. Why did you start a new fitness regime?..... did you intend to feel better ✅tone up✅have more energy for the kids✅improve health✅channel excess energy✅challenge yourself✅look good naked✅feel attractive to your partner✅improve sleep✅self esteem✅increase vitality✅decrease stress.... . . . . 📌Is your training giving you these benefits? Has it ever? Or the opposite..... . . . 📌Do you go so hard at the gym you come home and sit down for 2 hours after..... . . . 📌So tired you can’t cook a good meal and instead reach for something sugary cause you deserve it.... . . . 📌Constantly have to work through or around injury..... . . . 📌Or simply not enjoy training anymore more..... . . . 🔍Maybe the solution is to do better not more. . 📌Go deep not wide.... . 📌Quality over Quantity.... . . .
